Driver in Accident Charged With DUI

Margaret Poziemski, 52, of Park Ridge, was charged with driving under the influence and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident after she was involved in a car crash at Sanders Road and Forest View Drive Monday, March 12, reported.

Disorderly Conduct With Pepper Spray at Landmark Inn

Jessica A. Motyka, 26, of Palatine, was charged with disorderly conduct Sunday, March 18, after an incident at the Landmark Inn. Motyka allegedly sprayed a man with pepper spray because she thought he was approaching her boyfriend aggressively, according to police. She inadvertently sprayed other people nearby as well.

Osun K. Jackson, 39, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and driving with expired registration at Waukegan and Dundee roads Saturday, March 18, police reported.

Delivery Driver’s Window Smashed

A delivery driver was backing up her car in the 1100 block of Galway Court Thursday, March 15, when the rear window was smashed by an unknown object, according to police. She reportedly saw two men running away.

Irate Customer Breaks Employee’s Glasses

An employee of the Verizon Wireless store was helping a customer with a return Friday, March 16, when she became so angry that she slammed a package on the counter, breaking his $300 prescription glasses. She spoke to a manager and left the store. When she was contacted, she said she was busy and would have to call back in a couple of hours, according to police.

Wallet Swiped at Victoria’s Secret

A Burberry wallet containing $400 in cash and credit cards was stolen from a shopper at Victoria’s Secret in Northbrook Court Tuesday, March 13, police reported.

Purse Stolen at Covenant Village

A purse was stolen from the front seat of an unlocked car in the guest parking lot at Covenant Village Wednesday, March 14, according to police.

Three Phones Stolen From Skate Park

A man’s iPhone 4 was stolen from a ledge on the skate park, where he had set it while he was skating Wednesday, March 14, police reported.

A man’s HTC Sensation touch screen phone worth $500 was stolen when he left it on a patio bench at the skate park while he was skating Thursday, March 15, according to police.

Another man’s black Samsung Stratosphere phone was also stolen from the bench while he was skating Thursday, March 15, police reported.

Cigarettes and Prescription Stolen

A prescription and pack of cigarettes were stolen from a jacket left at Northbrook Court Thursday, March 15, according to police.

Designer Scarves Stolen From Home For Sale

After two home showings, the owner of a home for sale in the 2200 block of Washington Drive discovered that several designer scarves had gone missing Friday, March 16, according to police. Six silk Hermes scarves and one Japanese Yokohama scarf worth approximately $450 were stolen.

Vandalism on Brindle Court

A resident of Brindle Court discovered a yellow substance on his front lawn Tuesday, March 13, according to police. On Sunday, March 11, he also found several newspapers on his stoop.

Sod Damaged at Ice Rink

Someone drove a vehicle onto the park by the ice rink on Cedar Lane sometime before Monday, March 12, according to police. Portions of the soft sod were damaged and the park district will have to replace them.
