Blotter: Felony Drug Possession; 2 Warrant Arrests

Warrant Arrest in Domestic Incident

A 23-year-old Hickory Hills man was arrested on an outstanding warrant while police were investigating a domestic battery in Northbrook on Saturday, Jan. 28, according to police.

Police were dispatched to look for Adam B. Feldman, 24, of Northbrook, after he allegedly left a cab without paying his fare in the 200 block of Coachmaker Lane on Sunday, Jan. 29. During their investigation, police discovered that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested on that warrant and also charged with theft of services, according to police.

Domestic Battery

A 33-year-old Northbrook man was arrested and charged with domestic battery after medical personnel reported an incident that took place in Northbrook on Sunday, Jan. 15, according to police.

Violation of An Order of Protection

Ronald J. Degeatano, 43, of Chicago, was charged with violating an order of protection and turned himself in after he allegedly made harassing phone calls to someone with a protective order Monday, Jan. 16, police reported.

Driving Under the Influence

Alexandru Prodius, 26, of Chicago, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving under the influence, speeding, using lanes improperly and violating the median at Dundee Road and Skokie Boulevard Saturday, Jan. 28, police reported.

Paulo Ferraz, 51, of Wheeling, was arrested at Dundee and Sanders roads Sunday, Jan. 29, after a caller phoned in a tip about his erratic driving, police reported. He was charged with driving under the influence and using lanes improperly.

James C. Heard, 19, of Wilmette, was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested at Waukegan and Willow roads Saturday, Jan. 29, according to police. He was charged with driving under the influence, improperly using lanes and failing to signal.

Driving With A Suspended License

Alicja Gabrys, 27, of Glenview, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license Monday, Jan. 23, at Pfingsten Road and Spenser Street, police reported.

$2,000 Worth of Copper Material Stolen On White Oak

Someone stole approximately $2,000 worth of copper construction materials from a home in the 2400 block of White Oak Lane on Tuesday, Jan. 24, according to police. There were no signs of forced entry.

Attempted Burglary on Dundee Road

Someone apparently attempted to break into an office in the 3100 block of Dundee Road between Friday, Jan. 20, and Monday, Jan. 23, according to police. The doorknob was broken, causing an estimated $170 in damage, but the door had not been opened. Just behind the building, the backdoors of vacant offices in the 600 block of Academy Drive also had evidence that someone had tried to pry them open.

Change Purse, Wallet Stolen From Diners

As a woman went to pay her bill at Next Door Bistro Tuesday, Jan. 24, she noticed that her change purse was missing, according to police. The woman’s dining companion reported that a man and woman came into the restaurant while they were eating and requested to be seated right next to their table. The couple sat there for approximately two minutes, then left. As they were leaving, the man dragged his coat over the edge of the table, where the purse had been placed. Inside the change purse was a credit card, social security card and $80 in cash.

Someone stole a wallet from a woman’s purse while she was dining at Morton’s on Wednesday, Jan. 25, police reported. Inside was $150 in cash, a license and various credit cards.

Retail Theft at Nordstrom Rack

Daniela Pietrukaniec, 51, of Skokie, was issued a citation for retail theft Saturday, Jan. 28, after she was allegedly seen taking the price tag off of a pair of Prada boots, putting them on and walking out of Nordstrom Rack, according to police. When a store security officer brought her back in, two pairs of pants and a belt were discovered in her bag, along with a pair of scissors and wire cutters.

Driver Pumps And Leaves

Someone pumped $47 worth of gas into a vehicle and left without paying on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the Marathon gas station in the 1900 block of Shermer Road, police reported.

Vandalism at Meadow Road Shopping Center

A shopping cart from Do It Best Hardware was thrown through the glass door of a vacant store in the Meadow Road shopping center sometime overnight on Saturday, Jan. 28, according to police. Outdoor furniture and potted plants had also been overturned near the store La De Da, and dumpsters were turned over behind the businesses on Meadow Road.

Criminal Damage to a Vehicle

The back right side of a trailer was damaged while it was parked in the Cherry Lane shopping plaza Wednesday, Jan. 25, causing approximately $400 in damage, according to police.
