Blotter: Man Robbed at Shermer Road Warehouse; Arrest Made for Wisconsin Police

The police blotter for Feb. 6-13.

The above items come from Northbrook Police Department reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

ROBBERY AT UPS WAREHOUSE ON SHERMER

A man reported to police that he was robbed while leaving the UPS warehouse on Shermer Road around 10 p.m. Feb. 11. The man said that several men, many of whom he knew, approached him as he was about to get into his vehicle and told him that he owed them money. When he told them he didn’t have any money, they told him to hand over his anti-anxiety medication, the man said. He gave them his Xanax pills as well as his Blackberry cell phone, according to police.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Benjamin Drake, 25, of Northbrook, was arrested Feb. 6 at Shermer and Willow roads and charged with using lanes improperly, driving without insurance and driving under the influence, according to police. He was processed and released on bond.

Inna Shtern, 43, of Glenview, was stopped for traffic violations Feb. 12 at Willow Road and Patriot Boulevard, according to police. Shtern was charged with improper lane usage, driving with an expired registration and driving under the influence. She was transported to the police department, processed and released on bond.

Alexey Pavlyuchencko, 26, of Burr Ridge, was stopped for traffic violations Feb. 12 at Dundee and Portwine roads. Police determined that he was driving under the influence. Pavlyuchencko was arrested and charged with improper lane usage, violating the median, driving without insurance and driving under the influence, police reported. He was transported to the police department, processed and released on bond.

WISCONSIN WARRANT FOR ARREST

Jeffery Lucas, 24, of Chicago, was arrested Feb. 10 at the True Religion at Northbrook Court, according to police, on a warrant from the Sheboygan, WI, police department. According to Sheboygan police, Lucas is wanted as a material witness in a first-degree reckless homicide case.

DRIVING VIOLATIONS AND SOME POT POSSESSION

Trevor Black, 62, of Chicago, was stopped for an equipment violation at Dundee Road and Skokie Boulevard on Feb. 6. Police charged him with driving with a suspended license. Black was transported to the police station, processed and released on bond.

Alejadro Chang, 26, of Highland Park, was arrested Feb. 8 at Lake Cook and Waukegan roads and charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of cannabis, according to police. He was processed and released on bond.

MORE MARIJUANA POSSESSION

William Sullivan, 21, of Wilmette, was arrested Feb. 9 at Waukegan and Willow roads and charged with driving with an expired registration, driving without insurance and driving without a license. The charges of possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia were also filed, according to police. Also arrested was Brendan Mclaughlin, 21, of Northbrook, who was charged with possession of cannabis. Both defendants were processed and released on bond.

SHOPLIFTING AT WHOLE FOODS AND CHICO’S

Aura Cordero, 40, of Franklin Park, was charged with retail theft after she left Whole Foods on Feb. 12 without paying for about $300 worth of food, according to police. Cordero was taken into custody by store security and was later transported to the police department for processing and released on bond.

A woman left Chico’s in Northbrook Court on Feb. 13 without paying for $1,222 worth of merchandise, according to police. Store personnel did not sign any complaints, but the woman was banned from the store and escorted out of the mall.

STOLEN WALLETS, CELL PHONES, GASOLINE

A woman went to pay for her groceries at Whole Foods on Feb. 6 when she realized her wallet was missing, according to police. The wallet held several credit cards, identifications and cash. When she called to cancel the cards, she discovered that three of them had been used at Target in Glenview.

A man reported that his cell phone was stolen after he laid it on a table at Starbucks in Northbrook Court on Feb. 7, according to police.

Two drivers of a brown Hyundai SUV with no license plates filled up on $52.51 in gas Feb. 8 at the Marathon station on Shermer Road, then drove off without paying, according to police.

A 15-year-old boy reported that his $200 iPhone was stolen Feb. 9 from his unlocked gym locker at Glenbrook North High School, according to police.

A woman reported that her wallet was missing when she went to pay at the DSW store on Willow Road Feb. 8, according to police. She thought it had been stolen while she was shopping in the shoe store.

A woman reported that her $500 iPhone disappeared while she was at Northbrook Court on Feb. 10, according to police.

FELONY CHARGE RELATED TO STOLEN LOUIS VUITTON GLASSES

Slobodan Jovanovich, 42, of Chicago, was arrested in Chicago last week and charged with felony retail theft, police reported. The arrest was made in connection with an investigation of the Nov. 28 theft of a $530 pair of sunglasses from the Louis Vuitton store in Northbrook Court, according to police. The defendant was transported to bond court Feb. 10.
