Blotter: One Teen Ticketed For Underage Drinking, Three Caught With Cannabis

Traffic Stop Leads to DUI Warrant Arrest

William A. Lewis, 27, of Waukegan, was stopped for a traffic violation and charged with driving with a suspended license at Shermer and Meadow roads Saturday, May 5, according to . He was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Cook County Sheriff’s Department for driving under the influence.

Edwin R. Perez, 35, of Evanston, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving under the influence and three counts of improper lane usage Sunday, May 6, at Dundee Road and Skokie Boulevard, according to police. 

Dina Eig, 40, of Deerfield, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage Sunday, May 6, in the 4100 block of Dundee Road, police reported.

Driver Charged After Car Accident

Brian S. Bekier, 33, of Mount Prospect, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license after he was involved in a car accident at Pfingsten Road and Walters Avenue Wednesday, April 2, according to police. 

18-Year-Old Charged With Underage Drinking

An officer found Daniel Drabik, 18, of Northbrook, sitting on the curb in the 1200 block of Walters Avenue and detected a “moderate odor” of alcohol on his breath and observed that his speech was slightly slurred, according to police. He was issued a ticket for drinking alcohol under the age of 21. 

Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Edward M. Carey, II, 44, of Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after he was found with a glass pipe at the Landmark Inn Wednesday, May 2, police reported. 

Veronica Nunez-Aguilar, 24, of Glenview, was arrested after an officer searched the car she was riding in during a traffic stop and found a glass pipe and bag containing a leafy green substance, according to police. She was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 16-year-old and 17-year-old boy from Northbrook were taken into custody in the 1500 block of Walters Avenue and charged with possession of cannabis Friday, May 4. They were taken to the police station and then released to their parents, according to police. 

A 15-year-old boy was charged with possession of cannabis Saturday, May 5, in the 1500 block of Suzann Terrace. An officer noticed the scent of cannabis coming from his car and found him and another teen reclined in the front seats, according to police. Officers discovered an unlabeled prescription-pill bottle in his pocket that containing a leafy green substance that the teen identified as cannabis.

Driver’s Window Smashed, $800 Radar Device Stolen

Someone smashed the driver’s side window of a car parked in the 1900 block of Kiest Avenue and stole a Passport 8500 radar worth $800 sometime during the night of Tuesday, May 1, police reported.

Car Window Smashed on Timber Lane

Someone used a larger rock to break the passenger side rear window of a car parked in the 800 block of Timber Lane during the night of Thursday, May 3, according to police.

Retail Theft at Northbrook Court

A ring, a pair of earrings and a scarf were stolen from the Aldo store at Northbrook Court Wednesday, May 2, police reported. The store employee who complained told police she believed she had been distracted by one woman while another stuffed something down her shirt. The stolen items were worth $50 altogether. 

Stolen Bicycle

An elementary school student left his black “Diamond Back” BMX bike outside Meadowbrook School on Friday, April 27, and when he returned on Sunday, April 29, it was gone, according to police.

Vending Machines Vandalized

Someone damaged two vending machines and stole cash from them at Sportsman’s Country Club some time between Wednesday, April 25, and Tuesday, May 1, according to police. Losses were estimated at $500. 

Someone tried to gain access to a Coke vending machine at the Citgo on Dundee Road and damaged the cash receptacle area during the night of Saturday, May 5, according to police. It is unknown whether any cash was removed. 

Damaged Mailbox, Casement Window

Someone damaged a mailbox and post in the 2800 block of Brindle Court some time during the night of Monday, April 30, police reported. Losses were estimated at $200.

A resident of the 3800 block of Dundee Road reported that someone used a “BB” gun to damage the outer window of her lower double casement pane window some time between Wednesday, May 25, and Tuesday, May 2, according to police. Losses were estimated at $400.
