Blotter: Purse Swiped From Car Seat, Woman Attempts To Reuse Receipt

WARRANT ARREST FOR RETAIL THEFT

Ebony M. McClaine of Chicago was arrested at Northbrook Court Sunday, Nov. 6, on an outstanding warrant for retail theft, according to police.

Andrzej Golata, 45, of Northbrook, was stopped for a traffic violation at Walters Avenue and Regent Lane Saturday, Nov. 12, according to police. He was ultimately charged with improper lane usage, driving without valid insurance and driving under the influence.

Dennis Gonzalez, 30, of Glenview, was stopped for a traffic violation Sunday, Nov. 6, at Willow Road and Interstate 294. He was arrested and charged with improper lane usage, driving without valid insurance and driving with a suspended license, according to police.

THEFT

Allen David Albert, 43, of Chicago, was arrested between Oct. 28 and Oct. 30 for the theft of a new laptop worth $752, a second laptop and two power hammer and drill sets, according to police. 

Heidi B. Rodino, 35, of Northbrook, was arrested at Walgreens Tuesday, Nov. 8, after she allegedly asked for three packs of cigarettes and a bag of coffee. According to police, Rodino showed a receipt that she had used before in order to claim that she had already paid for the items.

A brown leather Fossil purse worth $100 was stolen from the front seat of a car in the 700 block of Sanders Road, according to police.

A gray Calvin Klein jacket worth $75 and a new, Nikon P300 black Pinto camera were taken from the bar area of a restaurant in the 1100 block of willow Road, according to police.  

Yanni Marakis, 65, of Wheeling, was issued a local ordinance ticket after he attempted to leave a Willow Road store Saturday, Nov. 13, without paying for $24.84 in meat and fish, according to oplice.

CAR BURGLARY

Someone broke two locks on the passenger side doors and took two nail guns from a 2007 GMC Savanna van parked in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard, Thursday, Nov. 10, according to police. Total damage was estimated at $500 and total losses were estimated at about $500, police reported.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Someone entered the Greenbriar school cafeteria, Monday, Nov. 7, and bent two pieces of copper pipe, each about one and a half inches in diamater. Total damage was estimated at $200 to replace the pipe.

GRAFFITI

Someone spray-painted the storm sewer wall on the Walters Avenue side of the street sometime before Monday, Oct. 7, at the West Fork of the North Branch of the Chicago River.
