Blotter: Swastika Graffiti; Felony Retail Theft

Police report arrests and other activity from Sept. 5 - 11.

The items below came from reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

James B. Hoefer II, 25, of Northbrook, was arrested Sept. 4 at Cedar Lane and Maple Avenue and charged with driving under the influence, driving with an expired registration and speeding, according to police. He was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Karl A. Milkereit, 37, of Mundelein, was stopped for a traffic violation Sept. 5 at Dundee and Landwehr roads. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage, according to police.

Dejan Zecevich, 27, of Northbrook, was stopped for a traffic violation Sept. 5 at Landwehr Road and Floral Drive. An arrest was made and charges of driving under the influence, improper lane usage and failing to signal were filed, according to police.

David S. Levin, 21, of Northbrook, was stopped for a traffic violation Sept. 11 at Western and Center avenues. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, according to police.

RETAIL THEFT

John M. Lucas, 56, of Northbrook, was cited after he allegedly took a bottle of vodka worth $18.49 from a business in the 1100 block of Church Street, according to police.

Raymesha E. Adams, 18, of Chicago, allegedly left a business in the Village Square Shopping Center on Skokie Boulevard with unpaid items, according to police. Police stopped her at Lake Cook Road and Skokie Boulevard and subsequently arrested and charged her with felony retail theft.

SWASTIKA INCIDENTS ON BRENTWOOD ROAD

Using red spray paint, a backward swastika was drawn inside a circle on the garage door at a home in the 2200 block of Brentwood Road between Sept. 6 and 7, according to police. The graffiti resulted in about $700 worth of damage.

A group of juveniles admitted to drawing a swastika and defacing the sidewalk with black dye in the 2200 block of Brentwood Road on Sept. 10, according to police. They were issued tickets and turned over to their parents. 

POSSESSION OF CANNABIS

Michael T. Casserly, 29, of Northbrook, was arrested Sept. 7 in the 800 block of Fair Lane and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.

CAR BURGLARIZED

A the garage at a Voltz Road home was burglarized between 6 and 8 p.m. Sept. 7. An Escort Passport 9500ix radar detector, worth $500, was stolen from the dashboard of an unlocked 2010 Ford Edge.
