DUI Arrest Over Twice the Legal Limit

L. B. Williams, 55, of Chicago, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence after he was involved in a car accident at Lake Cook Road and Skokie Boulevard on Aug. 8, according to police. Officers determined that his blood alcohol content was .219, a level that is more than twice the legal limit. No one was injured in the accident.

Francisco M. Salgado-Juarez, 37, of Northfield, was arrested Aug. 14 after he was involved in a car accident at Dundee and Waukegan roads, according to police. No one was injured, but while police were checking the records of both drivers, they discovered that Salgado-Juarez had a revoked license. He was arrested on that charge.

Man Yelling at McDonald's Arrested

Employees at the McDonald's on Skokie Boulevard called police about a man who was yelling in their parking lot Aug. 10. Police identified the man as James Waler Tucker Jr., 55, of Shreveport, LA, and arrested him on an outstanding warrant from Lake County.

$11,000 Charged in Identity Theft

A resident of Sugar Pine Circle reported that a credit card was open in her name and more than $11,000 in charges were made to the account before Aug. 9, according to police.

Retail Thefts

Two display cases containing numerous pairs of earrings were reported stolen Aug. 11 from a shop in the 2700 block of Dundee Road. The loss was estimated at $2,700, according to police.

Swastikas Etched at Village Green

Two swastikas and a pitchfork were etched into a wooden bench at the Village Green between Aug. 7 and 10, according to police. Damage was estimated at $100.

Vandal Blows Up Mailbox With Fireworks

A resident of Clover Road reported that fireworks were used to blow up a mailbox on the street on Aug. 8. Damage was estimated at $200, according to police.

Credit Cards Stolen From Locker

Three credit cards were reported stolen Aug. 7 from a man’s wallet, which he left inside his unsecured locker in a building in the 900 block of Dundee Road, according to police.
