Blotter: Three Burglaries; $14,000 Cash Stolen from ATM

$14,000 Cash Stolen from ATM

Someone drilled into an ATM in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard and stole $14,000 in cash Monday, Feb. 6, police reported.

Burglaries on Wescott Road, Shannon Road, Big Oak Lane

Someone entered and searched a home in the 1400 block of Wescott Road between 11:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, according to police. It is not yet known what is missing.

Someone entered a home in the 2900 block of Shannon Road through the sunroom’s sliding glass door between 7:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, ransacked the bathroom and emptied a wooden jewelry box of its contents, according to police.

A window lock was found broken, the back door open and a Colt revolver stolen from the drawer of the nightstand of a home in the 1900 block of Big Oak Lane. The burglary occurred sometime between Thursday, Feb. 9, and Sunday, Feb. 12, according to police.

Driving Under the Influence

Dean M. Perrin, 56, of Evanston, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving under the influence Sunday, Feb. 5, at Dundee Road and Interstate 94.

Driving With a Revoked License

Daniel Blancas, 30, of Mt. Prospect, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving with a revoked license and speeding Monday, Feb. 6, at Shermer and Lee roads, according to police.

Driving With A Suspended License

Bryan A. Gibas, 22, of Long Grove, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding Thursday, Feb. 9, in the 800 block of Shermer Road, according to police.

John A. Surace, 63, of Hardwood Heights, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and disobeying a traffic signal Friday, Feb. 10, at Willow Road and Ravine Way, police reported.

Ruben Garcia, 27, of Buffalo Grove, was stopped for a traffic violation, arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding Saturday, Feb. 11, in the 900 block of Dundee Road, according to police.

Consumption of Alcohol by A Minor

Shawn M. Carter, 20, of Mt. Prospect, was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor and obstructing a police officer after he allegedly ran away from a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Shermer Road Sunday, Feb. 5, police reported.

Possession of Cannabis

One 17-year-old boy from Northbrook was issued a citation for possession of cannabis while a second was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia when police stopped their car Saturday, Feb. 11, at Cedar Lane and Maple Avenue.

Sex Offender Arrested

Brett Alan Hetrick, 33, of Chicago, was arrested for failing to register annually as a sex offender after he was involved in a car accident at Skokie Boulevard and Lake cook Road Friday, Fen. 10, according to police.

Identity Theft

Someone made unauthorized purchases using the credit card number of a resident of the 2600 block of Woodland Saturday, Feb. 10, according to police.

Retail Theft

Jazmin Doraly, 19, of Highland Park, and a 17-year-old girl, also from Highland Park, were charged with retail theft after a loss prevention agent allegedly saw them leaving Macy’s with merchandise they had not paid for, according to police.

Robert A. Galbavy, 54, of Morton Grove, was issued a ticket for retail theft after he took two packages of sausages worth $10.20 altogether without paying for them Sunday, Feb. 12, at Whole Foods, police reported.

Stolen Jewelry

A small jewelry box containing four pieces of jewelry was reported missing Sunday, Feb. 5, from the master bedroom of a home in the 4000 block of Michelline Lane, according to police.

A resident of the 100 block of Pointe Drive reported that some of her jewelry had gone missing over the past several months, according to police.

Stolen Apple Products

Five iPhones and more than $2,000 worth of other Apple products were reported missing from the 2500 block of Shermer Road Tuesday, Feb. 7, according to police.

Stolen Wallet

A wallet was reported missing in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard Wednesday, Feb. 8. It had been left in a backpack in an unlocked conference room, according to police.

Someone stole a wallet left in the cafeteria of a building in Revere Drive Tuesday, Feb. 7, according to police. It contained $40 in cash, a driver’s license and a credit card.

Defaced Speed Limit Sign

Police observed yellow markings on the eastbound speed limit sign in the 3000 block of Keystone Lane.
