Body by Edens Identified as Missing Glencoe Man

He died of heart disease and cold exposure.

The body found Saturday morning by the Edens spur in Northbrook has been identified as 82-year-old Harvey Caplin, who went missing from his Glencoe home in late January, according to CBS Chicago.

Caplin, who had dementia, went missing Jan. 21 after walking away from his home on Forestway Drive. The winter’s heavy snow slowed the search.

His body was found by the Edens spur in Northbrook Saturday morning. CBS Chicago reports that the medical examiner’s office identified the cause of death as heart disease, specifically coronary atherosclerosis, with cold listed as a secondary cause of death.
