Call About Intoxicated Driver Leads to DUI Arrest

Someone also cut the windscreen at a tennis court in half, ruining it.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DUI

Officers were advised of a possible intoxicated driver on Shermer Road headed in the direction of Willow Rd. at 11:30 p.m. June 2. Officers observed a vehicle matching the description given pull into a gas station on the corner of Willow and Shermer. Officers determined that the driver, Chan Kim, 55, of the 1900 block of Sumerton Pl. in Northbrook, was intoxicated. He was processed for DUI and felony driving with a revoked license and taken to bond court.

A purple Women’s Trek Mountain Bike, worth $400, was stolen June 4 from the 1400 block of Shermer Rd.

Stolen wallet

The complainant left her wallet in a store in the 200 block of Skokie Hwy. June 5 and when she returned it was missing. She reported discovering that charges have been made on the card for a total of $405.                                                                                             

Damage to tennis court

Someone cut the windscreen on the east wall of a tennis court in the 200 block of Lee Rd June 2.  The screen was cut in half and horizontally which the complainant determined could not be repaired. The replacement cost is $500.00.

Identity theft

The complainant reported June 2 that offenders had gained accessed to his debit card account and

withdrew a total of $1,931.38. It is unknown where the incident occurred.
