Car Fire Spree Under Investigation

Northbrook police and fire departments are investigation several car fires set in the Charlemagne neighborhood.

The following report was provided by the Village of Northbrook weekly staff memo.

At 3:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5, fire crews responded to reports of multiple car fires at different locations within Northbrook's Charlemagne neighborhood.

Three separate but simultaneous car fires were extinguished prior to extension to the nearby homes. The Fire Prevention Bureau, along with Northbrook Police, is investigating the cause of the fires.

A fourth incident, involving a burnt mailbox and trash pile in close proximity to the car fires, is also being investigated.
