Chicago Men Arrested For Northbrook Burglaries

The following report was provided by the Northbrook Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations, and do not indicate guilt.

Officers arrested two Chicago men following an ongoing investigation of daytime burglaries in Glencoe, Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Lake Forest and Northbrook, according to police

Destyne Butler, 18, and Brian Johnson, 28, were charged with burglary, according to the police report. Butler was also placed on electronic monitoring, according to police.

Detectives observed a residential burglary pattern involving force to side and rear doors where electronics, jewelry and musical instruments were stolen from residences, police say.

The men were arrested for a residential burglary that occurred in Northbrook, and charges are pending for burglaries that occurred in Lake County and other jurisdictions.

So how did they catch them, was it in the act?

Good question Fred. I too would like to know. We could better shore up our homes if these thieves thought of a 'new' way to burglarize homes.

I am going to be very blunt here, While police officials will never admit this publicly, I am sure they were racially profiled based on the color of their skin. Glencoe, Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Lake Forest and Northbrook are not known to have a large African American population.

I too- will be blunt--Glencoe, Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland park and Lake Forest are not really known for their 'Jewish burglars' either. It's really not something they delve in. "Racial profiling" my petootee. We all know who USUALLY burglarizes homes in the more expensive suburbs. More & more people have VIDEO cams set up around their homes now. That said-- there are plenty of White, Hispanic, and other nationalities that participate in stealing also. It's a non denominational skill. AND--if you have the money, ANYONE can purchase a home in one of those suburbs- It's the law.
