Driver Speeding Without a Tire Arrested for DUI

A second man was also arrested for DUI in the latest Northbrook police blotter.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DUI

Kirk A. Aronstam, 57, of Glencoe, was stopped for a traffic violation at Dundee and Waukegan roads at 10 p.m. May 24. Officers determined he was under the influence. He was released on $1,000 bond with a June 25 court date

An officer saw a vehicle driving in the 1800 block Waukegan at a high rate of speed without a tire on the right front rim at 6:30 a.m. May 25. The vehicle was swerving out of its lane, forcing other vehicles to take evasive action. Officers stopped the vehicle and determined that driver Joseph Edward O’Donnell, Jr., 45, of Skokie, was under the influence. He was arrested on charges of DUI-drugs, improper lane usage and operating an unsafe vehicle. He was released on $1,000 bond with a June 25 court date.

Driving on a suspended license

Leonard F. Mendenhall, 34, of Maywood, was stopped for a traffic violation at 4:45 p.m. May 25 at Willow and Pfingsten roads. Officers learned his driver’s license was suspended. He was taken into custody on charges of driving with a suspended license, no valid license and improper lane usage, released on $1,500 bond and given a June 11 court date.
