Drunk Driver Charged With Endangering Child's Life

The following arrest information was supplied by the Northbrook Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI

On July 19, James N. McKnights, 32, of Wheeling, was pulled over near the 3100 block of Willow Road after an off-duty cop called police to report a possible DUI, according to police. McKnights had a passenger and two children in the vehicle at the time, police say. He was arrested and charged with endangering the life of a child, improper lane usage, failure to signal, DUI, DUI Over .08, no insurance and illegal transportation of alcohol, police say.

On July 15, Jeong Lee, 52, of Northbrook, drove off the roadway near Dundee and Laburnum roads and struck a fence, according to police. Officers arrived and charged Lee with DUI, violating a median and driving in the wrong lane, police say. 

Burglary

On July 19, a resident on the 1200 block Crestwood Drive reported that someone gained entry to a locked safe in the home's basement and removed jewelry, cash and a passport, according to police. 

Vehicle Burglary

On July 17, someone on the 2500 block of Shermer Road reported an aluminum box containing a radio, car stereo receiver and speakers was taken from the passenger seat of his delivery truck, according to police. Estimated loss $250.
