The items below come from Northbrook Police Department reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

STATUE STOLEN FROM ESTATE SALE

According to police a statue valued at $1,900 was stolen Sunday, July 10 from an estate sale in the 2500 block of Greenwood Road.

SCRAP METAL TAKEN

Approximately $2,000 worth of scrap metal was stolen Monday, July 4 from , police said.

CHAIRS STOLEN FROM PATIO

Police said four stainless steel chairs valued at $200 were stolen Thursday, July 7 from the patio of .

BIKE THEFT

A Schwinn men’s black and silver bike was stolen between 8:10 a.m. and 6:35 p.m. Thursday, July 7 from the commuter lot, police said.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Stephanie J. Spiwak, 25, of Northbrook was charged with driving under the influence after she was involved in an accident Monday, July 4 in the 1900 block of Techny Road.

Leon Joffe, 60, of Glencoe was arrested and charged with DUI Wednesday, July 6 at .

William L. Jacobson, 22, of Northbrook was arrested Friday, July 8 in the 3100 block of Dundee Road and charged with DUI drugs, driving with a license that has been expired for more than one year and failure to use signals when required.

Richard Tyler Wanland, 22, of Wisconsin was arrested Saturday, July 9 after his car struck a tree in the 3800 block of Bordeaux Drive, police said. He was charged with DUI and failure to reduce speed.

UNDERAGE DRINKING

Citations for consumption of alcohol by a minor were issued to Dave Roberts, 19 and Christian Langlois, 18, both of Northbrook in the 1800 block of Shermer Road Monday, July 4. A 17-year-old Northbrook boy, a 17-year-old Des Plaines boy and a 17-year-old Mount Prospect boy were also cited.

Police issued citations to four Northbrook 18-year-olds Wednesday, July 6 at Berlund Tot Lot. According to police, John A. McPike, Michael J. Collins, Jacob E. Pauls and James T. Bonner were sitting at a picnic table drinking beer.

Yulia A. Britkovskaya, 20, of Skokie was arrested and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor after a traffic stop Friday, July 8 in the 1200 block of Shermer Road. Daniel J. Driscoll, 20, of Northbrook, was also arrested and charged with improper use of registration.

MAILBOX DAMAGED

A mailbox was damage by fireworks between Saturday, July 2 and Monday, July 4 in the 3100 block of Kayjay Drive, police said.

BASKETBALL HOOP SHATTERED

The glass backboard of a basketball hoop was shattered Friday, July 8 in the 2600 block of Woodlawn Road, police said.

RETAIL THEFT

A woman stole two pairs of shoes valued at $2,055 from Sunday, July 10, police said.
