DUI Arrest Turns Up Glove Box Gun

The following reports were provided by the Northbrook Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations, and do not guarantee guilt.

DUI
On Jan. 12, an officer saw a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations while traveling westbound on Dundee Road, according to police. The car was stopped and the officer saw a weapon in the vehicle's glove box while the driver reached for insurance, police say. The officer arrested Samuel Sanchez, 50, of Glencoe and charged him with unlawful use of a weapon, DUI, driving without insurance and four counts of improper lane usage.

Felony Retail Theft
On Jan 10., Amanda M. Meinheit, 21, of Arlington Heights, was caught hiding shirts under her jacket at a store in Northbrook Court, according to police. She is charged with felony retail theft, police say. 

Vehicular Theft
On Jan. 4, someone reported his catalytic converter was taken while his car was parked on the 200 block of Skokie Highway, according to police. The converter was taken off a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am, police say. Reported loss is about $800.
