Ex-Northbrook Officer Pleads Guilty, Sentenced to 2 Year Probation

Enrique Guzman agreed to plead guilty to one count of official misconduct, in exchange for his guilty plea prosecutors dropped the theft charges, Chicago Tribune reported.


Former Northbrook police officer Enrique Guzman has been sentenced to two year probation after pleading guilty to official misconduct charges when he stole jewelry from a home while on duty, according to the Chicago Tribune. 

 In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors dropped burglary charges against Guzman, Chicago Tribune reported. 

The sentence includes a $629.00 fine, he is prohibited from leaving the state and owning a firearm, according to court records.

In late January, Guzman, 34, a 12-year veteran of the Northbrook Police Department, was charged with "," according to a village press release. 

Guzman was arrested after a five-month investigation by Northbrook Police and the FBI. Footage from three hidden cameras placed by the FBI caught Guzman pocketing a jewelry box with a fake diamond ring from a home he was dispatched to investigate on.
