Garbage Truck Contents Catch Fire, Truck Dumps Load

The following is from the Village of Northbrook:

At approximately 11:00am on Tuesday April 22, Police and Fire units responded to the area of Farnsworth and Penfold for a reported garbage truck on fire.

Upon arrival units found the driver had dumped the burning contents of the truck onto the street. Police blocked off the street while fire crews extinguished the burning contents.

Northbrook Public Work’s crew assisted the waste contractor with cleanup efforts and the road was reopened in approximately two hours. No injuries or damage to the truck were reported.
