GPS, Toiletries, Swim Gear and Change Stolen in Car Burglaries

Someone also damaged all four door handles of another vehicle.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Car burglary

Someone entered an unlocked Ford SUV in the 900 block of Meadow Road April 20 and went through the interior but no property was taken.               

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle that were parked in a driveway in the 1000 block of Meadow Road April 20 and removed approximately $15 in change.

Someone entered an unlocked 2012 Subaru that was parked in a driveway in the 800 block of Cedar Lane April 21 and removed a Garmin GPS unit and accessories. Loss is estimated at $500.

Someone removed a black cargo bag containing toiletries, swimming gear and an iPod Shuffle from a unlocked vehicle in the 1000 block of Briarwood April 22. Also missing is a Schaumburg Park District Key Tag. The approximate value of bag contents $300.

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway in the 2200 block of Crabtree and removed a wallet containing miscellaneous papers and $40 cash on April 23.

Criminal damage to a vehicle

Someone damaged all four door handles on a 2014 Ford Escape in the 1400 block of Shermer Road between April 20 and 22. There is no estimate of repair at the time of the report.                  

Driving with a suspended license

Brandon M. McMahon, 24, of Chicago, was stopped by officers for a traffic violation in the 700 block of Dundee Road at 11:15 a.m. April 22. Officers learned that his driver’s license was suspended. He was released on $2,000 bond and given a May 22 court date.                     

Credit Card Fraud                           

Patrice D. Freeman, 25, and Kimberly T. Plummer, 20, of the same address in Dixmoor, were arrested for attempting to use a credit card by fraudulent means to purchase iPhones from the Apple Store at 7 p.m. April 22. Store security was alerted by store personnel and detained the women until police arrived. Both were transported to bond court after felony charges approved by Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
