Three people died and two survived when a medical flight crashed near Portwine Lane and Lake-Cook Road in Riverwoods Monday night.
Emergency personnel from around the area responded to the intersection of Lake-Cook Road and Portwine Lane in Riverwoods Monday night when a medical flight crashed, killing three passengers.
Local photographer Tim Olk submitted photos of the crash scene to Patch.
An elderly couple being transported and the pilot died, while the co-pilot and a paramedic survived, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The plane crashed between two Riverwoods homes, barely missing the houses before it burst into flames, the Tribune reports. It was headed for Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling, only about five miles away.
Officials from the National Transportation Safety Board were investigating the accident Tuesday but have yet to release information on the cause, according to the Tribune.
