Man Struck By Car; Edens Shut Down Sunday Night

A 73-year-old man died after walking on the Edens Expressway and being struck by a car, chicago.cbslocal.com is reporting.


All lanes of the Edens Expressway (I-94) were shut down late Sunday night, according to the Community Incident Notification Service, after a 73-year-old Chicago man who was walking on the expressway near Skokie was struck and killed by a motorist, according to chicago.cbslocal.com. 

It's unknown why the man, Miguel Tavares, was walking on the expressway, the TV station reported. 

Lanes were reopened shortly after 3 a.m. Monday. If more information becomes available, Patch will update.
