Northbrook Blotter: Four Vehicle Burglaries in One Night

The following information was supplied by the Northbrook Police Department. Arrests or charges do not indicate guilt.

Four Vehicle Burglaries in One Night

On July 23, power tools were stolen from three trucks parked on the 2900 block of MacArthur Blvd., according to Northbrook Police.

That same day, someone reported tools stolen through a small window of a truck parked on the 3000 block of Commercial Ave., according to police. Elsewhere on that block, police say someone reported a lock securing his truck was cut, but nothing appeared taken.

Man Observed Entering Unlocked Vehicle

On July 24, a man in his 20s was observed entering an unlocked vehicle parked at the North Suburban YMCA and removing a red cloth case, according to police. The man dropped the case and rode off on a bicycle when a witness approached him.

Buffalo Grove Man Charged with Battery to a Police Officer

On July 24, Luis A. Trejo, 21, of Buffalo Grove, hit a police officer who was handcuffing Trejo, according to police. Trejo was approached because he matched the description of two reports of criminal trespassing to an automobile. Police say they discovered two other arrest warrants when Trejo was processed. He was placed in a jail cell with no bond, awaiting court on Wednesday, Aug. 8.

Sustainability Stealing

On July 27, a man from the 100 block of Dell Rd. reported five decorative, solar powered lights taken from his garden, according to police.

Vanished In Thin…

On July 24, a woman parked on the 4000 block of Dundee Rd. reported her MacBook Air stolen from her vehicle, according to police.

Stop Thief!

On July 25, a property manager arriving to work on the 1300 block of Shermer Rd. discovered two stop signs missing from the rear parking lot, according to police.

A Disgruntled Troll Quits His Job

On July 29, someone reported a concrete planter beneath the Metra Railroad underpass on the 2000 block of Cherry Ln. was smashed, according to police. Another planter on Meadow Rd. was turned over. Police say the roadway has since been cleared of large broken pieces, and Public Works was notified for a cleanup.
