Northbrook Blotter: Identity Theft and Lots of Stolen Vodka

Northbrook Police Recover Stolen Vehicle

On Aug. 15, an officer on routine patrol near the Metra train station near Shermer Rd. and Meadow Ave., noticed a car that had several registration stickers on the back plate, according to police. He ran the plates and discovered the car was stolen. 

The driver, Henry Vincent Spinato, 20, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

On Aug. 15, police say they discovered graffiti made with a blue marker at the Metra train station near Shermer Rd. and Meadow Ave. Police say the graffiti is consistent with "tagging" habits and photographed the scene.

A Criminal Road Block

On Aug. 15, someone from the 2400 block of Brian Dr. reported their credit card was falsely used by an unknown person trying to purchase a car over the phone from a dealership in Leavenworth, KA, according to police. The sale did not go through. 

Suspects Takes Booze Cruise to Jail

On Aug. 15, Jonathan Glen Baldwin, 29, of Romeoville, was arrested when he tried to leave the Dominick's on Dundee Rd. without paying for $793.53 worth of Ciroc Vodka, according to police. He has been charged with felony retail theft.

Woman Bites Store Security

Sharon Gould, 49, of Northbrook, was charged with battery and retail theft after biting the hand of a Dominick's security guard who tried taking her into custody for allegedly removing two bottles of wine, valued at $100, according to police.
