Northbrook Blotter: Two Homes Ransacked in 24 Hours

Two Northbrook Homes Ransacked

On Aug. 19, a resident on the 2300 block of Pfingsten arrived home to find her second floor had been ransacked, according to police. While the main floor remained undisturbed, jewelry, a coin jar and a pillowcase were missing from four bedrooms and a closet. Police say entry was gained through a second floor window on the building's south side.

On Aug. 20, a resident on the 2800 block of Farmington arrived home to find the house had been ransacked, according to police. The offender gained entry by prying open a utility room window. It appeared the offender exited through the front door of the house after the incident. Police have not disclosed if anything was missing from the property.

That Garbage Can Probably Got Very Hot

Between Aug. 21 and 22, someone removed two wood panels from two benches at Crestwood Park, according to police. Also, a picnic table was overturned and a metal garbage can was set on fire. The incident caused about $50 in damage.

Mission Impossibly Annoying

On Aug. 22, police responded to an alarm activation at a business on the 3600 block of Woodhead Dr. Police say they found an electrical panel that appeared to have been ripped from the wall and a hole cut in the roof above the panel. Upon arrival, the business owner told police nothing appeared taken.
