Northbrook Firefighters Extinguish Burning Drying Machine

A small dryer fire was quickly contained and no injuries or major damage occurred.

The Northbrook Fire Department responded to a small dryer fire at a home on the 800 block of Fair Ln. around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. 

No one was injured and no major damage occured to the home, according fire department deputy chief Tim Smeltzer, who was at the scene. The blaze was put out with a fire extuingisher. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Smeltzer said.
