Northbrook Man Dead After Breaking Up Fight Between Son and Neighbor

A 77-year-old man died of a heart disease after he fell while breaking up a fight between his son and a neighbor on Thornwood Lane. His son was charged with aggravated battery.

According to the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court, Ronald M. Christensen has not posted his $25,000 bond and is currently being held in Cook County jail in Chicago.

Christensen has a court date at the Cook County Circuit Court in Skokie on Tuesday, Sept. 11 in room 105 at 1:30 p.m.

A 77-year-old Northbrook man died of a stroke after he fell while trying to break up a fight between his son and a neighbor on Thornwood Lane, according to the Northbrook Star.

The Star reported that Donald Christiansen died two days after trying to stop a fight between his son, Ronald M. Christiansen, 48, and a neighbor at the Thornwood Lane home the father and son shared. TribLocal reported the decedent's name is Ronald Christensen.

The fight happened on Thursday and an ambulance brought the elder Christensen to Glenbrook Hospital that day. He died Saturday, according to TribLocal. On Sunday, an autopsy determined that he died of natural causes.

Ronald M. Christensen was charged with aggravated battery, according to the , for his role in the initial fight.
