Northbrook Police Arrest Possible Heroin Dealer

Police arrested Corey Randle, of Chicago, during an undercover operation on Skokie Blvd.

The following reports were provided by the Northbrook Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations, and do not indicate guilt. 

Narcotics Investigation

On Jan. 26, police say they received information that Corey Randle, 20, of Chicago, was holding and selling heroin in Northbrook. On Jan. 27, police say they formulated a plan to buy heroin from Randle on the 800 block of Skokie Blvd.

Once the buy was completed, officers tried to place Randle into custody but he quickly exited the lot, moving northbound on Skokie Blvd., according to police. Several marked and unmarked police cars tried to curb Randle's vehicle, at which point he exited the car and fled eastbound on foot, police say.

Police pursued after him on foot, and he was eventually arrested after a brief struggle, according to police. Randle was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (heroin) with intent to deliver 15-100 grams (Class X Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance 15-100 grams (Class 1 Felony), Fleeing and Eluding, Resisting a Peace Officer, according to police.

Police say Randle was also issued tickets, related to an accident related to the narcotics investigation, for Driving While License Suspended, Driving too Fast for Conditions, Improper Lane Usage, No Seatbelt, No Insurance and Reckless Driving.

Drug Possession

On Feb. 2, around 11:00 p.m., Northbrook police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation occupied by four juveniles, according to police. Further investigation determined all four juveniles were in possession of cannabis and paraphernalia, police say. The juveniles were issued tickets and released to a parent at the scene, according to police. 

Criminal Damage

On Feb. 3, at the Macy's on the 1500 block of Lake Cook Rd., someone slashed a fur coat and several other clothing items, and sensors were ripped off other clothes, police say.

Domestic Battery

On Jan. 31, on the 4200 block of Rutgers Ln., police say they arrested Daniel Quinn, 47, and charged him with two counts of domestic battery. 

VOOP

On Jan. 24, on the 4200 block of Kayla Ln., police arrested Lewis Becker because of threatening Facebook posts he made regarding his ex-wife, police say. He was charged with violating an Order of Protection and aggravated stalking, according to police.

Criminal Sexual Abuse

On Jan. 31, police say they arrested Kyle Sims, 18, and charged him with criminal sexual abuse. Police have not provided additional information at this time.
