Northbrook Police: Stolen GBN Jerseys, Home Security Failure

Also featured in this week's blotter: a bunch of stolen cologne and pillowcases.

The following reports were provided by the Northbrook Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations and do not indicate guilt.

Vehicular Theft

On Dec. 4, someone on the 900 block of Keystone Rd. observed the side utility door of his van was open and power tools were missing, according to police.

Missing Jerseys

On Dec. 4, an employee of a store on the 2800 block of Dundee Rd., reported two Glenbrook North jerseys were stolen, according to police.

Stolen Cologne 

On Dec. 5, an employee of the Abercrombie & Fitch store on the 1500 block of Lake Cook Rd. reported 36 bottles of New York Fierce cologne, worth about $1,944 were stolen from the store, according to police. 

Residential Burglary

On Dec. 8, at about 4:40 p.m., resident of the 2900 block of Lake Placid Ln. left his home for two hours, and returned home to find a window had been pried open, according to police. After walking through the residence, the homeowners found a pillowcase and jewelry were missing police say.

Security Systems Failure

On Dec. 8, a couple on the 3300 block of Old Mill Rd., returned home to find muddy foot prints throughout the lower level of the house, an open window, an open door and the home security system indicating alarm activation for multiple areas of the house, according to police.

When the homeowners contacted the security company, they were told the alarm was activated and the company contacted the resident's office, but they never reached the homeowner and did not call law enforcement, police say.

Residential Burglary

On Dec. 8, a resident on the 1100 block of Donegal Ln. told police she returned home to find various rooms had been rummaged through, a window was pried open and muddy footprints throughout the house, according to police. The victim reported a white pillowcase and two, men's gold watches were gone, police say.
