Northbrook Resident Finds Suspicious Man In Garage

The following reports were provided by the Northbrook Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations, and do not guarantee guilt.

Suspicious Subject
On Dec. 28, a resident of the 3300 block of Sunset Trail reported an unknown man had walked into her open garage, according to police. When the caller confronted him, the unknown person said he was thirsty and looking for something to drink, then she watched him leave, according to the police report. Responding officers found the man, Riyad Masri, 33, of Evanston, who said he was in the area placing flyers on doors for a housekeeping service, police say. When asked if he had a permit for soliciting, he stated that he never needed one and doesn’t need one to hand out flyers, according to police. Officers issued Masri a ticket and advised him to stop, according to police.

DUI
On Dec. 29, officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle driving erratically on Sanders Road near Lake Cook Road, according to police. Officers located the vehicle near Dundee and Sanders roads, and watched the driver perform several traffic violations, police say. After stopping the vehicle, the officers determined that the driver was intoxicated and placed her under arrest. She was transported to the PD where she was processed and released on bond. Arina I. Golikova, 59, of Northbrook, was charged with DUI and improper lane usage, according to the police report.
