Northbrook Teen Arrested for Sexual Abuse

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Criminal sexual abuse                                                                   

Matthew S. Stock, 18, of Northbrook, was charged with criminal sexual abuse Jan. 29. He was placed under arrest, transported to the police department and released on $1,500 bond. He has a March 6 court date. Northbrook police said they are releasing no further details at this time.

The owner of a home in the 500 block of Greenwood is renovating it and said that when workers arrived to the house on the morning of Feb. 14, they found a person inside the house. It appeared as if the subject had been staying in the home for several days. There did not appear to be any damage and nothing appeared to be missing. A neighbor said that they had seen lights on inside the house at night.

Betrum T. Anderson, 39, of Chicago was stopped for speeding at Dundee and Midway at 11 p.m. Feb. 14. Officers learned that his Illinois driver’s license was revoked. He was released on $1,500 bond and given a March 12 court date.                                                                

Driving with License suspended, improper lane usage                                      

Stephen Smaha Jr., 44, of Glenview, was stopped for a traffic violationFeb. 15 at 1 a.m. at Willow a nd Salceda. Officers learned that his Illinois driver’s license was suspended. He was released on $1,500 bond and given a March 4 court date.
