Local Woman Faces Child Porn Charges; More Arrests Possible

A 19-year-old aspiring model from Northbrook was charged with taking erotic photos of a 14-year-old Glenview girl.

A Northbrook woman was arrested Friday and charged with taking pornographic photographs with a 14-year-old Glenview girl, according to Lincolnshire police.

Paula Ferdkoff, 19, allegedly enlisted a photographer to take photographs of herself and the Glenview girl in order to advance her own modeling career, police said.

“She had these aspirations to be a model and she felt that these erotic shots of her would further her modeling career, but that it would be even better if she had a partner,” Lincolnshire Detective John-Erik Anderson told Patch.

Ferdkoff faces two felony counts of soliciting a minor to engage in child pornography and two felony counts of possession of child pornography, Anderson said.

According to police, the photo shoot took place July 12 at Digital Effects, 185 Milwaukee Ave., in Lincolnshire. The studio is now closed and has been shut down for at least a couple of months, according to employees of other businesses in the same shopping center.

Glenview police got wind of the situation in early August, when Ferdkoff filed a police report against the girl’s mother, the Sun-Times reports. Ferdkoff said the mother had made a harassing telephone call to her.

When Glenview police contacted the girl’s mother, she told them she believed Ferdkoff had been using her daughter in child pornography, according to the Sun-Times. Lincolnshire officers then interviewed Ferdkoff and discovered a compact disc with illegal images in her car.

Anderson told Patch that police are still investigating the situation.

“We did search warrants at the business, and then we also did a search warrant at the photographer’s home,” he said. “The investigation is ongoing, and there could be further arrests.”

According to the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court’s office, Ferdkoff’s bond was set at $50,000 on Saturday, and she was ordered to have no contact or communication with the minor from Glenview.

In order to be released, Ferdkoff was required to post 10 percent of her bond. She was able to do so and is now out of custody, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Her next court date is March 23 in Waukegan.
