Northbrook Woman Charged With Infant Battery

A 19-year-old was arrested after an infant she was looking after sustained head injuries.

Tamara L. Nelson, 19, of Northbrook, was arrested for aggravated battery of a child by Mount Prospect police after the mother of an infant Nelson was taking care of found head injuries on the child, according to the Chicago Tribune. 

Nelson's bond was set at $20,000 and she is scheduled to appear in Rolling Meadows court on January 17 at 10:30 a.m., the Journal & Topics reports.
The Department of Child and Family Services was informed of the incident and has begun their own investigation, CBS Chicago reports.
