One Teen Pulls A Knife On Another At Northbrook Days

One juvenile offender was taken into custody at the scene; police are still investigating the incident.

One teen pulled a knife on another teen at Northbrook Days Saturday night, according to police.

Two teens were arguing at the festival when one of the teens, a Glenview boy, pulled out a folding knife and cut the other teen.

Police arrived on the scene shortly after 9 p.m., after receiving a call about a stabbing near Shermer and Meadow roads. Officers took the offending teen into custody while paramedics treated the injured teen for a laceration.

“He was not stabbed; it was more of a cut,” said Officer Michael Shep.

While he was being arrested, the offending teenager remained belligerent, yelling, “F*** you, f*** the police, I’m rich,” according to a police report of the incident.

Even at the station, the teen continued to swear at police officers, according to the report. He refused to remain seated and kept trying to leave the interview room. Eventually, his mother contacted an ambulance and had him transported to a hospital for psychological evaluation, police said.

Charges are still pending and police are still investigating the incident, according to Shep.
