Police: 2 DUI Arrests, Vehicle Trespassing Arrest

On Feb. 9, police arrested two men for DUI. One of them was found in a ditch near Waukegan Rd.

The following reports were provided by the Northbrook Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations and do not indicate guilt.   

DUI

On Feb. 9, Joshua Bryson, 32, of Des Moines, IA, was charged with DUI after a patrolling police officer found Bryson's car in a ditch near Waukegan Rd. and Dundee Rd., according to police.

That day, police say they stopped a vehicle that was swerving on Dundee Rd. The driver, Paul Nakfoor, 49, of Northbrook, failed field sobriety tests and placed under arrest for DUI, no insurance, speeding and improper lane usage, according to police.

On Feb. 5, someone on the 1700 block of Pfingsten Rd. saw a man going through cars at the Northbrook Sports Complex parking lot, according to police. The man left the scene in a car, but police say they later identified his car on the 2100 block of Pfingsten Rd. and stopped him.

Anthony Matoian, 39, of Carpentersville was charged with Criminal Trespass To Motor Vehicle, according to police.

On Feb. 3, a business owner on the 3200 block of Arnold Ln. reported a theft from the business' shipping area, though the amount lost is unknown, police say.

Attempted Commercial Burglary

On Feb. 5, someone from Geary Electric on the 3100 block of Commerical Ave. reported a burglary attempt occurred between Friday, Jan. 18 and Monday, Jan. 21, police say. Someone damaged the business' door frame trying to pry it open, but no entry was made, according to police. 

Vandalism

On Feb. 7, someone reported a speed limit sign near Woodmere Dr. and Pfinsten Rd. had black spray paint on it, making it unreadable, police say.
