Police: 5 Cars Ransacked on Bittersweet Drive

A resident reports 3 vehicles burglarized, with one found blocks away in Aug. 2 incidents.

At least five vehicles along Bittersweet Drive were ransacked last Tuesday, resulting in the loss of hundreds of dollars in cash and valuables. 

According to police, three residents of Bittersweet Drive reported car burglaries Aug. 2., with one vehicle being found several blocks away.

A digital camera, emergency auto supplies, about $100 in coins and several silver coins valued at $500 were the items taken from three vehicles parked at one home in the 800 block of the Bittersweet Drive, according to police.

One of the vehicles was discovered a few blocks away on Shermer Road after a resident called police to report that an unfamiliar vehicle was parked in his driveway. 

Another resident on the same block of Bittersweet Drive also discovered her car was ransacked that same day. The contents of her glove box and center console had been strewn inside the vehicle, but no items were found missing, according to police.

A third resident in the 900 block Bittersweet Drive also found her glove compartment opened and its contents dumped on the passenger seat Aug. 2. She reported the loss of $10 in change and two pairs of designer sunglasses.
