Police Report Battery, Burglary, DUI

Featured in this week's blotter: a missing violin worth about $2,000.00

The following reports were provided by the Northbrook Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations, and do not indicate guilt.

Battery

On March 23, police responded to the 1500 block of Lake Cook Rd. where someone reported a fight between two juveniles, one of whom appeared to be injured, according to police. Responding officer found one of the juveniles who said he was kissing a girl when a man threw him to the ground and started kicking the juvenile in the head and face, police say.

Parents of the victim came to the scene and took custody of him while the offender, who is known to the victim, was contacted for further investigation, though the case is still pending, according to police. 

DUI

On March 24, dispatch received a call of a driving complaint, according to police. Responding officers located a vehicle traveling west on Techny Road, which they attempted to stop, police say. 

The driver did not stop and continued to his residence, where he was placed under arrest, placed under arrest, processed and released on bond, according to police. Police say they charged Kyungtae Seo, 39, of Northbrook, with improper lane usage, failure to stop when signaled, no insurance and DUI.

Burglary

Between March 23 and 24, someone forced open a window and entered ta church on the 900 block of Northbrook Avenue and removed $40.00 cash from a glass bowl in an office, police say. 

Theft

On March 15, police say they received a call from Glenbrook North of a stolen violin. Someone left a violin in a locked locker, but the violin and the lock went missing when the owner tried to retrieve it, according to police. 

The violin is a 2006 German made instrument, valued at $2000.00, police say.. It was in a black violin case with a blue felt interior.
