Police Save Lives With Sober Driving Program

Northbrook police joined thousands of law enforcement agencies across the country for a Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

Northbrook’s participation in Illinois’ annual Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over drunk driving program was a success, according to a police department release. Police report that more than five drunk driving arrests, five other significant arrests and 56 seat belt citations were made during the enforcement period that ran from Aug. 16 to Sept. 2.

Northbrook police joined forces with hundreds of law enforcement agencies across Illinois and nearly 10,000 law enforcement agencies across the country in this year’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

The recent law enforcement crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.
