Police: Tires, Rims Stolen Off Parked Car

Expensive racing tires and 17-inch rims were removed from a car on Pointe Drive.

The following reports were provided by the Northbrook Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations and do not indicate guilt.

Stolen Tires

On Jan. 25, someone on the 101 Pointe Dr. reported racing tires and four Enkei PF1 17-inch rims were removed from a gray, Honda S2000, police say. Responding officers found a scissor jack underneath the driver's side and a trolley jack with its handle missing under the passenger side of the vehicle, according to police. Reported losses amount to about $3,500.00.

Vehicular Theft

Between Jan. 16 and 17, someone on the 2200 block Valencia Drive reported an oxygen concentrator and several pill bottles were removed from a Toyota minivan, according to police

On Jan. 19, someone on the 1700 block of Dundee Rd. reported a purse missing from their vehicle, according to police. 

On Jan. 21, someone on the 1500 block Lake Cook Rd. reported $100 and a Blackberry Curve phone were removed from a Coach purse locked in the trunk of a parked car, police say. No damage noted on the vehicle, according to police. 

Burglary

  • On Jan. 21, someone on the 4200 block of Rutgers Ln. reported their house burglarized, according to police. The homeowners were out of town between Jan. 18 and the 21, and when a family member arrived home she found the kitchen window open, the dining room cabinets ajar, signs of a search through an office and a ransacked bedroom, police say. 

    Missing items include a complete silverware set, a man's watch, cash and jewelry, according to the police report.

    While canvassing the neighborhood, police found pry marks on the rear window of a nearby home, but police say no entry was made. 
  • On Jan. 21, someone on the 4300 block of Phyllis Dr. said a bedroom was ransacked after an occupant left the house, police say. The front door had been forced open — a watch and a gold bracelet were reported missing, according to police. 

Criminal Damage

On Jan. 22, someone on the 1800 block of Walters Ave. reported the front passenger tire was punctured three times while in a parking lot, according to police. 

Retail Theft

On Jan. 26, police say they charged Olga Kashivska, 25, of Northbrook and Arthur Berkovich, 25, of Des Plaines, with retail theft. 

The accused were arrested after leaving a store on the 1500 bock of Lake Cook Rd. without paying for four bottles of cologne and bottle of perfume, according to police.
