Prescription Meds Stolen in Burglary, DUIs

This week's Northbrook police blotter also includes identity theft and drug charges.

The following reports were provided by the Northbrook Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations and do not indicate guilt. 

DUI           

Michael F. Stott, 23, of Lake Zurich was charged with DUI, improper lane usage, speeding, and no driver’s license on person after being pulled over at Canterbury and Pfingsten roads at 3 a.m. on June 20. He was released on $3,000 bond, and has a court date scheduled for July 25.

Identity theft

A woman reported June 20 that $388 in unauthorized charges were made on her MasterCard.

Suspended driver’s license

Cesar Herrera, 36, of Palatine, was stopped for having only one red brake light on the 3900 block Dundee Rd. on June 20. Police said they then learned he was driving on a suspended license. He was released on a $1500 I-bond and has a court hearing scheduled for July 13.

Drug possession

Zachary J. Cavett, 24, of Chicago, and Daniel R. Wexler, 26, of Deerfield, were pulled over June 20 by police for a traffic violation. The officer observed a clear plastic bag with a green leafy substance inside the dashboard console, the police report states. Neither man could give a definitive answer as to whom it belonged to. A K-9 searched the vehicle and no other items found. Both men were issued a local ordinance with a court date of July 30 and were released.

Driving with a revoked license

Jesus Reyes-Eustacio, 37, of Wheeling was charged with improper lane usage and driving with a revoked drivers license after being pulled over by police at Dundee Road and Carlyle Court on June 20.

Residential burglary

A resident in the 2600 block of Cherry Lane noticed the residence’s back door was open on June 21. Checks, two laptops and two prescription medications from discovered missing.

Identity theft

Veronica Gonzalez, 37, of Chicago was charged with identity theft and fictitious identification on June 18.

DUI

Officers were dispatched for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a residence for two hours on the 4000 block of Bordeaux on June 21 at 11:30 p.m. Julio C. Davila, 35, of Waukegan stated he was returning from a party. Police said he smelled strongly of alcohol and had blood on his nose and hands, saying he got hit in the face at the party. He was placed under arrest for DUI and was transported to the police department. Bond was set at $3,000 and he has a July 30 court date.

DUI

Steve K. Han, 24, of Buffalo Grove, was charged with speeding, improper lane usage, DUI and DUI with a blood alcohol level over .08 on June 22 at Pfingsten and Highland roads. Bond was set at $1,000 and he has a court date of July 30.

Drug charges

Police said they saw Ronald Chang, 29, of Northbrook, making a traffic violation June 7 on the 600 block of Waukegan Road. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and cannabis was located inside the car, according to the police report. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of cannabis and two counts each of unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful delivery of cannabis.  Bond was set at $25,000 and a court date of June 27 was set.
