Spare Tire Stolen from Van

Also in this Northbrook blotter, a man's car was scratched and given a flat tire.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Retail theft

Yeung Tae, 30, of Northbrook was arrested after he attempted to leave a store in the 800 block of Willow Road without paying for $178.76 in merchandise at 6:15 p.m. March 9.  He was issued a local ordinance citation for retail theft.

Driving with a suspended license

Stephen Stymacks, 31, of Northbrook, was stopped for traffic violations in the 2800 block of Koepke Road at 11:45 p.m. March 10. Officers determined that his driver’s license was suspended. He was transported to the station, processed on a charge of driving with a suspended license and released on $1,500 bond.

Alberto Gomez, 27, of Chicago was stopped for an equipment violation in the 2300 block of Shermer Road just past midnight on March 11. Officers learned that his Illinois driver’s license was suspended. He was transported, processed on a charge of driving with a suspended license and released on $1,500 bond.

Spare tire taken

A victim reported that the spare tire for their vehicle was removed from underneath a 2011 Chevy Van in the 800 block of Sunset Ridge Road between March 12 and 13. The loss is estimated at $150.             

Car gets flat and scratched

A man told police he had come out to his vehicle and noticed a flat tire and scratches on the driver's side of the vehicle in the 700 block of Anthony Trail at 9:30 a.m. March 15. Some scratches were observed on the vehicle from the front driver's side fender, through the driver's side door, and into the driver's side rear door. 

Driving on a revoked license

Benjamin A. Vazquez, 47, of Wheeling, was stopped for a traffic violation in the 3100 block of Willow Road at 7 p.m. March 15. He was found to have a revoked driver’s license. He was placed under arrest for driving with a revoked license and unlawful display of registration, and transported to the station where he was processed and  released on $1,500 bond.
