Suspect Credit Card Leads to Teen's Arrest

A man was also picked up on a warrant for a drug charge in this edition of the Northbrook police blotter.

The following is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Warrant arrest

Kevin A. Soballe, 27, of Des Plaines, was a passenger in a vehicle involved in an auto accident at 4:15 p.m. May 2 at Shermer and Lorenz roads. Officers confirmed that a warrant for him on an unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia charge was active. He was processed and released on $5,000 bond with a May 14 court date.

Driving with a revoked license

Francine Pollina, 39, of Machesney Park, IL, was stopped for several moving violations at 8 p.m. May 2 at Willow and Greenwood roads. Officers discovered her Illinois driver’s license was revoked. She was charged with driving with a revoked license, no insurance, expired registration and no turn on red, and was released on $2,000 bond.

Theft

A woman told police that as she was leaving a store in the 200 block of Skokie Highway at 11:30 a.m. May 3 she could not locate her wallet. Her red leather wallet contained $70, her driver’s license and various papers.                                                                                                  

Driving with a suspended license

Wayne A. Keels, 42, of Northbrook, was stopped for a traffic violation at 7:30 p.m. May 3 at Cherry and Blacktorn lanes. Officers learned that his Illinois driver’s license was suspended. He was processed and released on $1,500 bond with a June 17 court date.

Credit card fraud

An employee of a store in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road told police that a woman was in the store attempting to purchase a gift card and a pair of jeans with a credit card that appeared to be fraudulent on May 5 at 2 p.m. The woman left the store when the purchase was denied but was located by responding officers. The credit card was determined to be fraudulent and the woman, identified as Dominique R. Spann, 18, of Dolton, was placed under arrest. She was processed and placed in a cell to await bond court.                                  

Car keyed

Someone keyed a silver Honda while it was parked in a parking lot in the 2300 block of Shermer Road between 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. May 2.
