Thief Steals Empty Cash Drawer from Business

Several car break-ins were also reported.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Sign defaced

A park district sign was defaced in the 2400 block of Greenview. There was no estimate of cost to repair.

Rober M. Washington, 39, of Zion, was stopped for a traffic violation at 11:30 p.m. April 17 at Dundee and Midway roads. Officers learned that his driver’s license was suspended. He was charged with driving with a suspended license and a no turn on red violation, and released on $1,500 bond.      

Business break-in

Offenders entered a business in the 800 block of Skokie Blvd by breaking an outside window overnight April 17. The offender stole the locked cash drawers from within the business. The business owner reported that the cash drawers are emptied prior to the close of business each night. Detectives are investigating.

Car break-ins

A victim reported that offenders entered his unlocked vehicle overnight on April 17 and removed property in the 800 block of Keystone.

A victim reported that offenders entered his unlocked Kia overnight April 17 and removed a non-functioning iPhone and went through the glove box in the 1700 block of Ferndale.                               

A victim reported that an offender entered four unlocked vehicles in a driveway in the 1600 block of Dundee Road and then removed property from the autos at 8:30 a.m. April 17.
