Train Struck Unidentified Man Saturday Night In Northbrook

An unidentified man was found dead Saturday night at the train tracks near Shermer and Techny roads, according to Cook County Police. His death has been classified a suicide by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Around 8:30 p.m., a freight engineer with the Canadian Pacific Railway saw a man lying on the tracks ahead and sounded the horn, but the man did not move, according to the police report. The engineer activated the emergency brake, but the train did not stop in time and the man was hit.
