Trick or Treat or Vandalism?

Tricksters vandalize a Northbrook home and a girl reports an indecent exposure on Skokie Blvd.

The following incidents were provided by the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest or charge is merely an accusation and does not indicate guilt.  

A Distasteful Treat

On Oct. 27, at 1:47 a.m., on the 2500 block of Illinois Rd., a man and his wife awoke to the sound of something striking their home, according to police, then went outside to find eggs had been thrown at the house and his vehicle. Police say there was also an empty egg container in the driveway, Oreo cookies stuck to the garage door, chocolate syrup spread on the driveway and front door, and plastic eating utensils on the front yard.

Indecent Exposure

On Oct. 25, on the 100 block of Skokie Blvd., a girl said she was leaving a store with her friend when a man approached the pair, opened his jacket and exposed himself, police said.

DUI

On Oct. 26, at 6:08 p.m., Brandon Wolf, 41, of Northbrook, was arrested and charged with DUI and improper lane usage after being stopped at the intersection of Waukegan and Dundee roads, police said.  He was released on $3,000 bond and has a Dec. 13 court date, according to police.

Residential Burglary

On Oct. 23, at 4:40 p.m., on the 1000 block of Shermer Rd., a woman found that her neighbor’s home had been ransacked, and that an offender had used a “pry type tool” to open the door, police said.

Suspicious Circumstances

On Oct. 24, Michael Howliet, 47, of Hazel Crest, was arrested and charged with aggravated identity theft, police said. His bond information was not immediately available, but he has an Oct. 31 court date, according to police.

DUI

On Oct. 25, at 8:50 p.m. at the intersection of Dundee Rd. and Waukegan Rd., Shana Kamish, 24, of Wheeling, was arrested for DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis, police said. She was released on $1,000 bond and given a Nov. 7 court date, according to police.

Retail Theft

On Oct. 26, at 3:20 p.m., Jason Razdik, 36, of Wisconsin, was arrested and charged for retail theft and held on $25,000 bond after a employee at Neiman-Marcus on the 1500 block of Lake Cook Rd. saw him steal a sports coat valued at $6,000, police said. He has a Nov. 20 court date, according to police.
