Blotter: Underage Drinking; Slap in the Face

Underage Drinking

Police responded to a call about alcohol consumption by a minor in the 1200 block of Candlewood Hill Road. Parents said their child had come home drunk and admitted to attending a party on the block. Police went to the home holding the party and knocked on the door. They heard the occupants say something about turning off the lights and not answering the door. Police walked around the house to see if anyone was fleeing and found a female juvenile jumping over a wooden fence in the backyard.

Slap in the Face

Police responded to a call in the 3400 block of Whirlaway Drive. They were told that a unknown man wearing a green T-shirt and riding a bicycle had slapped the caller's 10-year-old daughter in the face while she was in Stonegate Park. After a search of the area, police could not find the suspect.

Police apprehended Victor J. Gutierrez of Chicago doing more than 40 mph over the speed limit at Dundee Road and Juniper Lane. He was released on $1,000 bond.

Police arrested Hatef M. Vakil of Northbrook for driving 98 mph in a 40 mph zone on Waukegan Road at Walters Avenue. He was released on $2,000 bond.

 

The above items are taken from the Northbrook Police Department reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
