Vehicle Strikes Fire Hydrant, Lamp Post

The following report was is republished with permission from Northbrook Village Hall's weekly staff memo.

On Tuesday afternoon, a vehicle struck and damaged a fire hydrant and street light on Old Post Road near Williamsburg Drive, temporarily taking them out of service.

Upon report of the accident, crews worked with the police department to assess the damage and cordon-off the area. To prepare for the excavation required to repair the hydrant, nearby vegetation was trimmed and underground utilities were located.

The hydrant is scheduled to be repaired in the next few day, after which a new street light will be installed.
