Village President Frum to Address Business Leaders at Northbrook Chamber lunch
Northbrook Village President Sandra Frum will be the keynote speaker at the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Wednesday, December 7th at the Sheraton Northbrook, 1100 Willow Road. In this annual State of the Village address before the business community, Frum is expected to provide an overview of major issues facing the Village of Northbrook and provide a summary of challenges and opportunities the community expects to face in the coming months. She will also speak on several aspects of the Village’s finances and discuss recent efforts to stave off legislative attempts by others to “raid” the Village sales tax revenues. Other topics she is expected to discuss include the Village’s increasing need to respond to emergencies, including the winter blizzard, record breaking rainstorms and recent crippling power outages. With a lot of attention focused on the recent “charette” to address the future options for downtown development, President Frum will discuss the challenges involved with the economic development process.
Frum is a 32 year resident of Northbrook and served on the Village Board for 22 years as a Village Trustee, prior to her election as Village President in April 2009. She chaired the Village’s Finance and Administration Committee and was instrumental in supporting efforts to improve the roads in the Sky Harbor business park.
There will be ample opportunities for questions and answers during this informative lunch. The cost of the lunch is $25 in advance for Chamber members and $35 for guests and at the door. The event begins at 11:45 and is open to the public. Guests are asked to register in advance. To make a reservation, call the Chamber office at (847)498-5555.
