Nortbhrook Trustees OK Controversial Techny Car Wash
The Plan Commission voted against it last week.
A controversial car wash and gas station in Techny got the go ahead from Northbrook’s Village Board this week, according to an article in the Northbrook Star. The board has to officially approve the special permit, still, but that is a formality.
Neighbors have voiced concerns over traffic, noise, lighting, and a loss in their property values if the proposed 2370 Waukegan Rd. business were built. The Plan Commission recommended against it in a 5-4 vote last week.
In a 5-1 vote Tuesday, board members said Waukegan is a busy commercial strip and that this is a good use of that space, the Star article says.
