Techny Road will remain two-way between Second Street and Shermer Road to minimize the impact on Glenbrook North High School and Second Street. Motorists can access the and Northbrook from eastbound Techny Road through June 15th at which time it will be closed for approximately 15 weeks.
Access to Covenant Village from Foxglove Drive will remain open during construction. All other eastbound traffic will be directed to Willow Road as the detour route.
Construction on this phase is expected to continue through 2013.
Annual Asphalt Resurfacing
This year’s program will involve resurfacing and pavement patching (rehabilitation) of approximately four miles of asphalt streets. Specifically, during resurfacing, crews will grind off the road's surface, repair any deficiencies in the road's base and install a new road surface. Defective curbs and gutters will be replaced.
So far, crews have removed curbs on Doriann and Kay Jay drives. Other streets on the program include: Vicki Lane,Ferndale Avenue,Oak Leaf Terrace, Floral Drive,Woodland Drive,Scotch Pine Lane,White Pine Drive, Woodmere Drive, Whisperwoods Court, Acorn Lane, Applewood Lane, Bach Street, Crabtree Lane, Crimson Court, Highland Road, Hunting Lane and Margo Lane.
This effort will continue until Labor Day.
