Plan Commission Provides Walmart Recommendation Tonight

Northbrook's plan commission will hear some final remarks from Walmart and will provide their recommendation for rezoning 1000 Skokie Blvd. on Wednesday night.

The public has been invited back to the Glenbrook North Performing Arts Center, for the plan commission's latest meeting on the proposed Walmart at 1000 Skokie Blvd.

Wednesday's meeting, which starts at 7:00 p.m., is scheduled to have Walmart's final presentation to the commission, after which commissioners will close the public hearing and provide their recommendation on the requested zoning and subdivision relief.

Regardless of the plan commission's recommendation, Walmart can still bring the proposal to Northbrook's village board, who will conduct the final vote on whether or not to rezone the lot where Walmart wants to build its new superstore.

At the October 30 meeting, the public may attend and watch the proceedings, but will not be able to provide additional input. Northbrook will, however, continue to accept written comments, whether they are letters or e-mails sent to 1000skokie@northbrook.il.us.
